Other imaging devices
The Celestron NexImage has already been mentioned. There is also the Meade Lunar and Planetary Imager, which is cheaper than the Celestron. at £85 (March 2009).  The Meade gallery shows some good images taken using this device even though Meade say it contains a CMOS chip rather than  a CCD.

Sky-Watcher also have an imaging device, the Acuter. This has not received good reviews, however,  though it is cheaper than the Meade or Celestron devices at about £55. This is partly due to the focal reducer lens incorporated in its adapter tube, which is reportedly of poor quality. One would prefer not to have this lens. When the device is used without it, however, the results are acceptable but not particularly impressive.  There are no drivers for Vista for this device.

There is nothing ready-made between these devices and the next level up, DMK cameras from The Imaging Source or Ian King Imaging. These give excellent results, and are available in either mono or colour versions, with prices of £275 upwards. Many advanced imagers use Lumenera cameras, costing several hundred pounds.
